A Standing Order for In-Hospital Lactation Consultation

Written criteria for referral can clarify the circumstances in which the services of a lactation consultant could benefit postpartum hospital patients. These criteria are identified as a component of a hospital's "Standards of Care for Breastfeeding Families."
